~DARK NIGHT OF MY SOUL~

I was in the dark night of my soul
Nothing could ease my pain
Which had come swiftly, unexpectedly
And left me desolate.

I could find no escape
No comfort,
No hope;
So deep was my despair
No mortal hand could aid me
Or gentle word soothe my yearning.

And in my longing
I cried to You, my lord
Who heard my prayer and touched me
And made me whole
For Thou art my light 0 Lord
And You lead me from this darkness.
